About Michael Paul Gimness, MD, FAAFP

As a board-certified family medicine specialist, Michael Paul Gimness, MD, FAAFP offers multidisciplinary medical care to patients of all ages at Family Medical Specialists of Florida, PLC, in Plant City, Florida. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Gimness is passionate about education — he helps patients learn about their health and holds several educator positions at local universities.

Before earning his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, Dr. Gimness completed his bachelor’s degree at Carroll College in Helena, Montana. He served his internship at the Medical College of Georgia Hospitals and Clinics in Augusta, Georgia, and his residency at Saint Vincent’s Healthcare in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Gimness aims to help every patient have the best possible outcomes, providing attentive, customized care ranging from wellness exams and chronic disease management to pain management and treatments for sleep disorders.

Outside of work, Dr. Gimness enjoys spending time with his family and making the most of the beautiful Florida weather — camping, hiking, water-skiing, and playing soccer and basketball.
